This
unique 5-day tribute Festival takes place in the Town where Ireland’s
greatest Rock ’n Blues Guitarist - Rory Gallagher was born
62 years ago - Ballyshannon, Co.Donegal in the North West of Ireland.
Thousands of Rory Gallagher’s fans from all over the World
make the now Annual Pilgrimage to honour Rory in his birthplace
of Ballyshannon.
The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2010 begins on
Wednesday 2nd June and continues through until Sunday 6th June 2010.
Among highlights this year will be the unveiling of the Rory Gallagher
Statue on 2nd June in Ballyshannon, a fabulous full life sized bronze
statue designed by Scottish Sculptor David Annand, that will be
unveiled by Rory’s family members and internationally acclaimed
musicians
The Festival features 5 days of open air concerts, workshops, Pub
sessions and intimate theatre gigs with bands from the USA, UK,
Holland, Germany, Norway and Ireland. We are delighted that this
year among the main headline acts will be "SHINKICKER"
(England) featuring the electrifying Guitarist ~ Chris Stuckey,
"WOLFPIN" (Holland), "DAVE McHUGH BAND" (Ireland),
"SINNERBOY" (England), "PAT McMANUS" (Ex. Mama’s
Boys), "THE LOOP" (Germany), "BEARDED BABIES"
(Norway), "SEAMIE O’DOWD BAND", "WILLIE BYRNE
BAND", "MOONCHILD", "ROY FULTON BAND" (Ireland),
and many more to be announced in the coming weeks ..............................
In all there will be over 25 performing acts appearing at the Rory
Gallagher International Tribute Festival. The vast majority of the
Festival is free to view entertainment, however there is a Special
once-off Theatre Concert on Saturday 5th June 2010 at the Rory Gallagher
Theatre with Tickets goling on Sale for that Show through this website
from February 2010 (Headline Act to be revealed here soon !!!). There
is extensive quality Hotel and B&B accommodation available in
the locality and there is a large well-serviced Official Festival

When in Ballyshannon, you can view the new Rory Gallagher Statue,
you can visit the Rock Hospital where Rory was born on March 2nd
1948, view the Rory Gallagher Hall of Fame Exhibition at Owen Roe’s
Bar in the Street where Rory first resided and while at the Festival
you will have no choice but experience Ballyshannon’s friendly
hospitality, historic sites such as the Mill Wheel and a visit to
Rossnowlagh is recommended.
